Civil matters are called PRIVATE WRONGS in which the dispute is primarily between individuals and society as a hole is not concerned.

CIVIL LAW, CIVILIAN LAW is a legal system which originated in Europe , also knows as ROMAN LAW intellectualized within the framework of late Roman law, and whose most prevalent feature is that its core principles are codified into a referable system which serves as the primary source of law. This can be contrasted with common law systems whose intellectual framework comes from judge-made decisional law which gives precedential authority to prior court decisions on the principle that it is unfair to treat similar facts differently on different occasions
In civil matter the action has to be taken by the affected person .The role of the state is limited in providing the machinery and force.
The aim of CIVIL LAW is COMPENSATION to the affected person .
